Eligible for subclass 482 visa or 186 – depends on work experience in Australia

If you are already in Australia and seeking to leverage the Age Care Labour Agreement, below are the requirements you need to fulfill:

  • Have completed a Certificate III level course in a relevant field OR have minimum one year work experience in one of the specified occupations.
  • Meet the English language proficiency standards, with a minimum IELTS score of 5.0 for speaking and listening, and 4.5 for reading and writing.
  • Fulfill the age limit requirement, which is set at 45 years for the Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186). There is not limit for subclass 482.
  • Ensure compliance with the salary conditions, including full-time employment and payment of a minimum salary of $51,222 AUD or the Australian Market Salary Rate, whichever is higher.

  • Have completed a Certificate III level course in a relevant field OR have minimum one year work experience in one of the specified occupations. Following applicants can apply:
    • Diploma of Nursing
    • Bachelor of Nursing
    • One year Certificate in Age care
    • One year Certificate in Nursing/Personal care
    • If you do not have above qualifications, but hold minimum one year experience as
      • Nursing Assistant
      • Ward Assistant
      • Patient Care Worker
      • Age/Disability carer
      • Registered Nurse
      • Personal Care Assistant
  • Meet the English language proficiency standards, with a minimum IELTS score of 5.0 for speaking and listening, and 4.5 for reading and writing for standard aged care providers, or an IELTS score of 4.5 (or equivalent) with no component minimum for culturally and linguistically diverse aged care providers, provided you are fluent in the target community language.
  • There is no age limit for offshore applicants applying for the Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482).
  • Employers must meet the salary conditions as per the Age Care Labour Agreement.
